We need a standardized logging and monitoring platform to ensure consistency across environments, ease of development, and operational excellence. The platform should be scalable, well-supported, and handle both logs and metrics efficiently.
3. Decision
Our logging and monitoring platform consists of the following tools:
- Logging: OpenSearch and Graylog for storage and management.
- Log Collection: Fluent Bit (and Vector) for log shipping and processing.
- Monitoring & Metrics: Prometheus for data collection and Grafana for visualization.

4. Rationale (Justification):
This stack combines industry-standard tools that are highly interoperable. OpenSearch provides a powerful search and analytics engine, Graylog offers a user-friendly interface for log management, Fluent Bit and Vector are lightweight and efficient log processors, while Prometheus and Grafana are the de-facto standards for cloud-native monitoring.

- All new projects should integrate with this stack for logging and monitoring.
